Challenge #42 - "Is it black or is it white? ( with a twist!)"

Phew, many thanks for voting in our poll last week and the new themes for October will be as follows:

1st place: Use a digi image
2nd place: Clean and simple layout
3rd place:
Halloween theme

We have also decided to incorporate the following themes as they proved very popular also:

Colour challenge
Long forgotten stamp (how many of us are guilty of this one!)

However to keep you in "suspenders", we won't say which weeks they will appear in (or even month) just yet . . hee, hee, hee!

Now the lucky winner of lasts week prize is . . . drum roll please . . .

A huge congratulations from everyone at Fab'n'Funky and please email Lou who will send you your voucher to spend at "Fred She Said". As it is the end of yet another month which is bringing us nearer and nearer to Christmas, we are sponsored this week by another of our very generous monthly sponsors and that is:

The lucky winner will receive some fab & funky images to play with as their prize but to be in it to win it (as it were) you will need to join in this weeks challenge which we have called . . .

"Is it black or is it white (with a twist!)"

Ooooohhh doesn't that sound like a new cocktail? So to explain further, what we would like you to do is to use "BLACK & WHITE" on your card plus one other colour of your choice (which is your twist). Now the DT have had great fun with challenge and would love to share their ideas with you . . .

Challenge #41 - "Quote me Happy"!

Yet another great week where you have all blown us away with your projects. We can't say it enough but want to thank you all for the continued generousity you all show each other, week by week, by always kindly sharing techniques and projects is "out of this world" and the crafting community is very "rich" indeed.

Now we have 3 things to share with you this week and we will begin by announcing a brand new sponsor to "Fab'n'Funky" this week. So without further ado, put your hands together for . .

Photobucket

The lucky randomly chosen winner will receive a voucher to spend in the shop . . lucky crafty so and so! All you need to do, is enter this week challenge to be in with a chance of winning this FAB prize.

Now onto the 2nd thing . . .
"we need YOU ! "

OOohhhh what do we mean . . . don't panic we're not asking you to part with money etc but we would like your help in organising the "Fab'n'Funky" DT in October. Normally the DT get together and throw some theme ideas into the air, vote on them and then turn the favourites ideas into our themes for the month. Now for October we would like YOU to VOTE on the themes YOU would like to see in October! We have had a "good think" and come up with loads of different themes and they are shown in a poll at the top of the challenge blog. Please choose at least 3 of your favourite theme ideas on the poll. You have until the close of this weeks challenge to vote, so there is plenty of time. We will then count the votes and the TOP 3 ideas will become challenges themes in October 2010.

So what do you think? It's a small way of the DT girls making you, our loyal weekly supporters have a bigger part in the "Fab'n'Funky" challenge blog and also we wanted to say "thank you" for all your support this year so far. We would appreciate your help in this "quest" and nervously await your decision!

Now the 3rd thing to share is that our new DT members are playing along with us this week too . . how exciting, so please give them a warm welcome.

Now this weeks theme may seem a little tricky but what it's actually designed to do is for you to use an item that you probably haven't used in ages . . . your "long" sentiment stamps or digi phrases . . or even your own phrases. So this weeks challenge is called . .
"Quote me happy"
We would like you to look through your stash . . . and we all have a mountain or 2 of that (!) and is there a neglected sentiment stamp, digi etc hiding in a corner that you purchased but have never known what to do with it?!?!? We're not talking about the standard phrases we all use daily on our projects but the longer, quote phrases that caught our eye but we have yet to use them. Well this week, we would like you to use this "quote sentiment / phrase" in your project and to get the ball rolling the DT have some inspiration to share with you all . . .

The DT were very lucky to have been given some yummy Melgens images to play with and here is what they came up with for this weeks challenge . .

A little nag . . PLEASE where possible, turn off your word verification. The DT love to visit you all but it can take an age to leave a comment if you have word verification . . . why not try comment moderation instead especially as "Blogger" has added an extra spam filter which means any comment thet think could be "spam" goes into a seperate area.

Do you want to be on our DT?

Do you fancy joining the "Fab'n'Funky" challenge DT? If you do, why not apply for a position on our DT this week. We have several positions opening and you never know . . . "it could be you!"

What do I need to do?
Join in this weeks challenge putting DT after your name (when you use the Inlinkz system). All the DT will then visit you to have a good "ole nosy" at your blog ! Please ensure that in your post that you put down that you are 1] entering the challenge and 2] want to be considered for the DT position.

How long is the DT call running for?
The DT call will run from Wednesday 8th September until Sunday 12th September 2010 , 9pm (GMT) although the this weeks challenge does not finish until Tuesday 14th September, 10pm (GMT).

When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced next week, Wednesday 13th September 2010 and will begin participating in the challenges from Wednesday 20th September 2010.

When do the challenges run?
Our challenges run from Wednesday morning to the following Tuesday, finishing at approximately 10pm.

What will be required of you?
You will need to commit to participate in the weekly challenges using the theme set and any sponsor images provided. Your completed project will need to be uploaded to the Challenge Blog by Tuesday evening ready for the new challenge which is published on the Wednesday morning. You will also be asked to comment on the challenge entries (which we run on a rota system). Please not that the Fab'n'Funky DT strongly believe that everyone who enters our challenges should receive recognition from the DT for participating as we have a strong and loyal following.

Do I need experience?
In a word . . . " NO " ! We just want people who are enthusiastic, love to craft and are up for a challenge! If you are on other DT's that doesn't exclude you either but please do consider your work load when entering our DT Call.

Is there any financial reward?
Again in a simple word . . . " NO " ! We are very lucky however as many of our sponsors do supply us with their images &/or products in the weeks they sponsor.

How are the themes set?
The DT get together and come up with loads and loads of suggestions for themes. We then vote (as a DT) on all these suggestions and the Top 4 or 5 are then chosen as our themes for the following month. However . . . watch this space challenges goers out there ! ! ! There are times that the sponsor chooses the theme or alternatively we use the prize offered as the stepping point for our theme.

Anything else?
The DT is run as its own mini democracy and everything is openly discussed between us all. Any decisions affecting the challenge blog are agreed and acted upon as a team, so obviously we are looking for team players to join us.

So if you are interested, please do have "a go" as you never know. If you entered last time and were unlucky, please do not let this put you off entering this time around either as we have decided to appoint several GDT positions too. I know several people were approached about GDT positions after our last call . . please don't panic if you haven't heard from us because you will very soon ! Can't say anymore.

Now if you have any further questions that have not been covered in this post, please leave a comment below and we will answer your question(s) ASAP. Please do not leave a comment to apply for the DT position on this post as all requirements for the DT entries are at the beginning of this post.

Good luck everyone and as always, many, many, many thanks for your continued support, enthusiasm and participation in our weekly challenges.

Lou, Linds, Emma, Jenny, Ginny, Andrea, Jilly and Jenny
